Senior Software Engineering Manager

Due to strong growth, Silanis Technology is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager with extensive project management experience in a software development environment. You will be responsible for ensuring development of products that shape the electronic signature market, and will have responsibility of multiple projects to be completed on time, scope, and budget, and with very high customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the CTO and working with an experienced R&D team, the primary functions of the Senior Software Engineering Manager include:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide and coach a team of software engineers
  • Manage product development projects thorough a complete software development lifecycle using proven methodologies
  • Establish and direct project schedules and budgets, including resource allocation across the project portfolio
  • Monitor and control projects from initiation through delivery, including project schedules, resource availability, budget and project accounting, etc.
  • Create and maintain all project processes and plans
  • Deliver weekly status reports of ongoing projects to ensure profitability and accurate project cost accounting
  •  Interface with internal departments including Professional Services, Customer Advocates, and Sales & Marketing
  • Interface with customers as required
  • Negotiate and implement sub-contracts or outsourcers as necessary

Qualifcations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience in managing large scale software product development projects in a software development environment
  • A strong leader, with excellent people-management skills, extreme dedication and team-building skills
  • Experienced with software engineering methodologies including Agile and RUP
  • Experience using a variety of project management and issue tracking tools
  • Strong technical aptitude; ability to vet estimates, to analyze, assess, to manage tight deadlines and timelines and document a project throughout the full life cycle
  • Highly meticulous, detail oriented, flexible
  •  PMP Certification is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in English oral and written, French an asset
