E-Signature Deployment Options

Electronic signatures - your way

Only Silanis offers as many deployment options when it comes to e-signatures. On-premises or on the cloud, we believe that you shouldn't have to compromise on security or functionality, simply because of the way in which you choose to adopt e-signatures. One of the top criteria for any true enterprise electronic signature platform is having the flexibility to choose between deployment options as you expand usage across an organization.

What's the difference?

Deployed behind an organization's firewall, our on-premises solution follows the most traditional way of deploying enterprise applications and is still preferred by many. The resources needed to adopt e-signatures on-premises are offset by the flexibility and control provided by the system. It is fully configurable to your unique brand, business process, compliance and IT requirements. It also gives organizations in highly regulated industries with stringent compliance and privacy requirements complete control over where the servers are located and data is stored.

Enterprise licensing is available with on-premises deployments. This licensing model makes it possible to anticipate precise costs over time and may provide a lower total cost of ownership, especially at higher volumes.

Silanis also offers e-signature services on the cloud - both as a dedicated cloud instance, or an on-demand software-as-a-service depending on your security and compliance requirements. This type of deployment provides up-front time and cost-savings for you because Silanis takes care of provisioning the servers, hardware and software.

Our e-signature services can be licensed on a transactional or subscription basis. The elasticity of this pricing model may offer cost-savings, especially for organizations whose peak volumes occur during specific weeks or months of the year.

How do you choose?

To begin with, some organizations simply have a preference for one licensing model over the other - purchasing a license as opposed to paying for transactions. Beyond this basic decision starting point, if the process you are automating with electronic signatures demands maximum control, flexibility and scalability, on-premises is for you. Corporate privacy policies and/or regulatory constraint regarding where customer data can reside may leave you no option but to implement e-signatures behind your firewall.

If time-to-market and IT resource constraints are a concern, one of our cloud-based offerings is the way to go. Because there is no software to install or manage, our cloud solutions provide the fastest path to get up and running. Infrastructure readiness doesn't have to prevent you from bringing your processes online and taking advantage of straight-through processing.

There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to deciding between on-premises or cloud, but there are some general trends such as:
  • Customer-facing, regulated, high volume processes at the largest organizations tend to be deployed on-premises.
  • Mid-market companies tend to favor the economics of the cloud.
  • The cloud is definitely the choice for internal and business-to-business contracting and procurement processes.
  • Proof-of-concept and pilot implementations can be up and running on the cloud in a fraction of the time.
  • Our service-provide partners favor software-as-a-service because it offers rapid application development

The advantages of multiple deployment options with Silanis

The advantage of choosing to work with Silanis is you DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE! We are the only electronic signature provider to offer multiple options for deployment which means you can deploy on-premises for part of your business - customer on-boarding applications for example; and on the cloud for another - contracting with partners or internal human resource paperwork.

All of Silanis' e-Sign solutions are built on the same core technology. You will find the most important features across our e-Sign platform, including ease-of-use, document-centric signatures, digital signatures and process evidence. And even the on-premises deployment method can be implemented as a shared service for multiple lines of business.

Adopting an enterprise e-signature standard makes life easier for everyone. The common electronic evidence, document format, integration methods and interface, will minimize the effort and cost of adopting:
  • IT and operations - No more siloed e-signature implementations to support. A common e-signature platform will free up IT and operations bandwidth.
  • Legal - rest assured all your organizations' e-signed records meet legal and compliance standards. Also minimize the cost and effort of e-discovery in the event of a dispute with a familiar and consistent approach to evidence.
  • Procurement - maximize your e-signature investment with an enterprise license that covers all deployment options.
  • Business process owners - with an enterprise solution already vetted by IT, legal and procurement, your ability to expand usage will be streamlined.
