Professional Services Technical Consultant - Montreal based

Description

Reporting to the Director of the Professional Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical services requiring system level architecture, Web and network infrastructure, security, scalability, and reliability expertise to Silanis customers. You will lead training, implementation and deployment projects, both at the corporate office and at customer sites.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Three to seven years experience in the software field delivering technical consulting engagements
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Creative thinker, proactive, team-player, and success-oriented who delivers on commitments
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of current Web technologies, including XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and XSLT
  • Familiarity with software development technologies, including J2EE, .NET and C/C++
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure including web servers, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
        • Databases (Oracle, MS SQL)
        • Application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere)
        • Operating systems (Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux)
        • Large-scale deployment of client and server software
        • Administration of mission critical and enterprise software
  • Understanding of database design, programming, or administration with Oracle or
  • SQL Server highly desirable
  • Knowledge of UML an asset
  • Knowledge of cryptography an asset
  • Bilingualism (French and English) desirable

  • Analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • Develop solutions and improvement strategies
  • Deliver technical hands-on training
  • Deploy server and client based software

Location and Travel

  • Montreal headquarters
  • Travel to the United States, approximately 30% of time.
