Featuring US Army G3 Munition Management Division

Presented by

Tommy Petrogiannis, President & Co-founder, Silanis

Interview with

Bob Torche, Project Manager, Total Ammunition Management Information System, US Army G3

Secure, public key-enabled, electronic signatures are an essential part of any eGovernment initiative. Without this capability, processes will only be partially automated and will still be burdened by the inconvenience and cost of printing to paper whenever a signature is required.

In 2003, despite significant investment in a worldwide system to manage ammunition, the US Army G-3 Munition Management Division was still bound to paper to complete ammunition requests. Since then, they have implemented a web-based, eSignature solution and as a result have been able to:

  • Accelerate request cycle time
  • Reduce errors caused by manual QA & re-keying
  • Increase troop safety by eliminating the distribution of documents in the field for approval
  • Leverage DoD security infrastructure

Implementing electronic signatures can be a daunting challenge. Luckily, organizations today can benefit from the best practises of organizations like the US Army G3 who have experience deploying and using the technology.

In this free web seminar, viewers will receive a 30 minute introduction on basic eSigning concepts including:

  • Terminology
  • Application areas
  • Legislation and guidelines
  • Integrating with legacy systems
  • Integrating with evolving security infrastructures

Following this introduction, Bob Torche, Total Ammunition Management Information System Project Manager, G3 provides a first-hand account of the factors that contributed to a successful implementation as well as the challenges encountered during the project. Finally, Mr. Torche shares what results they have seen in the two years since introducing electronic signing.
